WESTFORD, Mass., September 18, 2006 – NetScout Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: NTCT), a leading provider of network performance management solutions, today announced that Midea Group, a Chinese conglomerate with its core business in home appliance manufacturing and other operations in real-estate and logistics, has installed NetScout’s nGenius Network and Application Performance Management Solution to address one of its most urgent challenges – to control and manage bandwidth growth. Prior to their purchase, Midea Group could not base their bandwidth upgrade decisions on a thorough understanding of their network and application traffic.

“With the nGenius Solution,” said a network manager at the Midea Group, “we can now see what applications consume our leased line bandwidth at any point in time and analyze growth trends as well as usage patterns. As a result, we know exactly when and how much bandwidth we really need, thus reducing costs and over-provisioning. However, our analysis showed that the utilization of their leased line was under 70% and would therefore be more than enough bandwidth to handle the additional traffic. One of the largest home appliance manufacturers in China with revenues of nearly 50 billion RMB and 30% average annual growth rate, Midea Group must efficiently leverage networking technology to service its 70,000 employees and 10 manufacturing bases. The backbone network is located at its headquarters in Shunde, Guangdong Province is connected via leased lines with more 60 manufacturing facilities, subsidiaries, and regional offices. As Midea Group’s network expanded and networked applications increased, they realized that they needed to augment network administrators’ experience and rudimentary management tools to effectively manage network growth.
